I have the same problem as everyone else after installing Daemon Tools. I can not use any USB sticks anymore because of this sptd. I've tried all the methods online: - use the installer but there is no uninstall option anymore - tried safe mode (didn't get any prompt 'press ESC to cancel load sptd.sys') and then tried to delete sptd key from ' HKEYLOCALMACHINE System CurrentControlSet Servic es SPTD' without success. I tried assigning full control on everything even in advanced mode, but doesn't let me change the owner of the service. When I login with User(admin role) the owner of SPTD is listed Administrator user (Administrators group) but when I login with Administrator it lists User as owner. I can't belive there is no way to uninstall this driver.

Please tell me what is the solution to this. Download proper SPTD installer from. Click Uninstall. Reboot your PC after uninstalling.

There is a new version 1.29 that would solve most of the problem. However, most people may not know that the SPTD driver is NOT uninstall from the system even if you run through the uninstaller, it just hide itself and cause some of the problems listed a) For Daemon Tools and Alcohol, if you try to install these, it will forever ask you to install SPTD, reboot the computer, then ask you to install, then reboot and so on. The problem here is that the SPTD driver itself is DISABLE but the installer won’t know it. So to solve this, go through step 1 to 5 and ENABLE the driver at step 5. Then these two software will install correctly. Anyway – I had a similar problem regarding D-TOOL involving scsi drivers%systemroot%/daemon.dll, d346.sys and other hidden files.
